The 2011 Golden Globe Awards, Some Observations   by CJ Pennington

Last evening the celebrities were radiating on the red carpet of the Golden Globe Awards. The award show is regarded as a glance into the nearing future, not just predicting the winners of the Academy Awards, but we also see the very first glimpse of the style trends of the next 12 months.

With the daunting success of Black Swan and the praise of its Best Actress winning celeb, Natalie Portman, it is no shocker that she and her Supporting Actress Nominee, co-star Mila Kunis, have impacted the fashion world with their characters simple style. Hair Styles have been worn well out of the face, up and clear of the ears, most likely in a bun or a voguish chignon. By doing so, the ears are thoroughly exposed, causing them to be the perfect place to show off a dazzling diamond stud. This look is quite flattering to almost any frame and due to this factor, the ballerina look took over the red carpet. Most actresses opted to leave their necks bare and enhance with a very simple tennis bracelet or diamond ring, but on the occasions when they chose to don something around their neck, it was dainty.

Future mom to be, Natalie Portman, just glowed in her Viktor and Rolf gown set off by a lacy collar style necklace. Diana Agron, who is recognized as the character Quinn on Fox’s hit show ‘Glee’, exchanged her pompoms for a stimulating nude colored dress and donned a stunning lacy necklace by Cathy Waterman (very much like in style to the necklace seen in pics of her from that occasion). The open and refined style will allow the wearers natural elegance to shine through. Other actresses channeling their inner ballerina consists of ‘Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco and ‘Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland.

Sophia Vargara graced the red carpet in a stormy Vera Wang dress and in most cases you wouldn’t take into consideration her gown to be among the best of the bunch.
